On Sunday night, the Dallas Mavericks will face the Boston Celtics (Massachusetts) in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
Superstar point guard Kyrie Irving finished with 10 points and three assists on 5-of-10 shooting from the field in the first 21 minutes of playing time.
He also made his mark in NBA history by moving to 74th on the playoff assists list, passing Hall of Famer Ray Allen (449).
After Allen, the next player Irving will overtake will likely be Hall of Famer JoJo White (452).

Irving is in his second season with Dallas and has been a great fit alongside superstar forward Luka Doncic.
He is currently averaging 22.2 points, 3.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 47.5% from the field and 40.2% from 3-point range through the first 18 games of the 2024 playoffs.

This will be Irving’s fourth appearance in the NBA Finals, but his first since the 2017 season (seven years ago) when he was with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The former Duke University star was the No. 1 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft and is in his 13th season in the league.
In addition to the Cavs and Mavs, he also played for the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics.
His career averages are 23.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game while shooting 47.4% from the field and 39.3% from three-point range.

Game 3 of the series against the Celtics will be played in Dallas on Wednesday night.
