John Cena named the former WWE Champion as the most underrated star in wrestling history.
Throughout his 23-year career with WWE, John Cena has had some storied rivalries with some of the biggest stars in professional wrestling, from Batista and Edge to The Great One, AKA The Rock, but there’s one star Cena considers to be the most underrated he’s ever stepped in the ring with: The Miz.
Not only is The Miz one of the most decorated Intercontinental Champions of all time, having reigned eight times – one shy of Chris Jericho’s record – he is also a two-time WWE Champion. During his first title reign with the company in 2011, The Miz defended the title in style against Cena on “the biggest stage” at WrestleMania 27.
In a new trailer for A&E’s WWE Legends documentary about The Miz, Cena explained that he considers his former rival to be the most underrated star in history.
“He’s not just one of the most underrated WWE Superstars in the history of the industry.”
Miz himself also said in his post that he felt “tremendous pressure” on his first day, but that he overcame it all to now have his own legendary biography.
“Day 1: I was undervalued, underestimated, faced with immense pressure and overwhelming voices from my peers and the public that said I couldn’t do it, that I didn’t belong here.
