Retaliation from Israel to Türkiye! The rabbit was scolded in the mountain…
The new era, which began with Turkey suspending all imports and exports from Israel, pushed the Tel Aviv regime into a corner. The trade embargo announced by the Turkish government on May 2nd was the first embargo against Israel in the war that began on October 7th.
The New York Times described Turkey’s move as the latest international sanctions to attack Israel and said it deepened Tel Aviv’s isolation.
Galia Lindenstrauss, a senior expert at the Israel Institute for National Security Studies (INSS), told German media that she found the radical measures taken by Turkey “very serious and shocking” and said that in fact Next added that she was worried about what would happen.
In 2023, approximately $7 billion in trade took place between Turkiye and Israel.
A few weeks later, Israel responded to the Turkish government’s severing of commercial ties with Tel Aviv. Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has announced that the free trade agreement between Turkey and Israel will be canceled and 100% tariffs will be imposed on Turkish imports.
They are looking for an alternative to Türkiye
Fascist Minister Smotrich, who claimed Turkey was violating international agreements, said he would submit a retaliatory plan to the cabinet for approval. The plan envisages the elimination of all reduced tariffs imposed on goods exported from Turkey to Israel pursuant to the free trade agreement. In addition, all products imported from Turkey are subject to an additional tax of 100% of the price in addition to the existing customs duty rate.
Israel’s finance minister issued a statement targeting President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, saying the Turkish government had declared an economic boycott of Israel with its decision.
Mr. Smotrich emphasized the search for alternatives, pointing out that the country will seek to diversify import sources to reduce dependence on Turkey for trade.
The Jerusalem Post published a report that listed China, Eastern Europe, Greece, Germany, Southern Cyprus and Taiwan as alternative addresses.
