Mother’s Day Brunch
Tomorrow is Mother’s Day, a joyous holiday for many but a difficult and emotional one for others.
We suspect that those celebrating the holiday will do something that feels synonymous with Mother’s Day: brunch. We asked Business Insider’s lifestyle correspondent Anneta Konstantinides if she had any thoughts or tips on brunch.
Aneta, how did brunch become synonymous with Mother’s Day?
My earliest memory of Mother’s Day is my dad telling me it was time to make my mom breakfast in bed. To me, Mother’s Day is a holiday associated with the simple pleasures of the morning: fresh coffee, pancakes, and fluffy eggs.
I think this is just the perfect way to celebrate Mother’s Day. It doesn’t have to be a big Thanksgiving or Christmas feast; after all, it’s about making sure mom doesn’t have to do anything.
If I want to celebrate my mom but don’t want to leave the house, do you have any recipes for a delicious meal at home?
Ina Garten’s Greek Orzo Salad helps transition from breakfast to lunch, and her Blueberry Ricotta Breakfast Cake is a must-try — I made it for my mom last Mother’s Day and she gave it a 10/10.
Every mom deserves a delicious cocktail, so why not celebrate the day with Garten’s famous Cosmopolitan, perfect for summer with its watermelon flavour?

Mountain views and masala chai
One writer paid $317 a night to stay at the Taj Cape Town in South Africa, where her room overlooked Table Mountain, one of the city’s main landmarks.
From the freshly brewed masala chai at the breakfast buffet to the afternoon tea and hand-delivered cakes, the hotel’s food was also a highlight of my trip.

Excursion to “Hairstabul”
In the United States, the cost of a hair transplant can range from $10,000 to $20,000. But in Istanbul, a doctor charges about $3,500, which includes consultation, surgery, post-op care, three nights’ accommodation in a four-star hotel, and transportation to and from the airport, hotel and clinic.
After seeing one of his friends successfully recover his hair after a trip to “Hairstabul”, the author decided to undertake the journey himself.

Chris Pine’s promotion
In an interview with BI, Pine said he never wanted to be a movie star: The third-generation actor initially eschewed joining the family business, hoping to become a professional baseball player instead.
But that wasn’t the case: Pine has risen through the Hollywood ranks with leading roles in romantic comedies and IP-backed blockbusters, and he spoke about his rise to BI, including what he learned from Denzel Washington.

What not to wear: Finance Bro Edition
The temperatures are rising, which can only mean one thing: it’s time to pack away your Patagonia vest and put on something a little cooler, both literally and figuratively.
Men’s fashion consultant Reginald Ferguson told BI he wants his clients to stick to a “modern yet classic” style this summer – which means ditching athleisure in favour of premium pieces from brands such as Zegna and Kiton.
