“Bozkurt” penalty for Merih Demidral
UEFA has handed down a two-match suspension to international player Merih Demiral for making a grey wolf sign during the Euro 2024 last 16 match against Austria.
The appeal route is closed
As Demiral was given a lighter penalty than a three-match suspension, the decision could not be appealed to the International Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). UEFA’s decision was immediately a hot topic on Turkiye’s agenda, as was the “Grey Wolf” sign.
