Sheffield Lake Mayor Rocky Radev said this inaugural festival was a really good start to building community and delivering a great event.
“It was awesome,” Radev said. “Everyone I talked to enjoyed it.
“There were people of all ages. Everyone who came had a great time. The food trucks were packed all night. It was great to be on the lake, and of course, most of all, we were thankful that the vendors came out.”

“City staff did an excellent job preparing and organizing. Overall, this is a great start and we hope to see many more events in the future.”
The idea for the food truck festival grew from a similar event held during the April 8 total solar eclipse, Radev said.
Radev said he conducted a survey for the city about what people wanted from local events.

Robinson Family Soap Co. hosted a nice little food truck event during the eclipse that was well attended, he said.
Radev said people who attended the eclipse event noted the city needs to hold such events more frequently.
In addition to building community, Radev and the city also want to promote local businesses.
The long-term goal of the city’s community events schedule is to make Sheffield Lake a stronger hometown for residents and a destination for all, the mayor said.
After the food truck festival, Radev said he hopes to host city-wide movie nights and other events at the community center.
Sheffield Lake’s next big event is Community Days, which will be held July 20-23 at the Shoreway Shopping Centre at the corner of Lake Road and Lake Breeze Road.
