Cengiz Candar, Deputy of the DEM Party, Diyarbakir, touched on the motion adopted yesterday by the Turkish Grand National Assembly to condemn Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech in the US Congress. Candar criticized the words of President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who said, “If we release Prime Minister Netanyahu, they will welcome him with a red carpet… and they did,” and said, “It hasn’t even been a year yet, on September 26, 2023, President Tayyip Erdogan said on the plane returning from Azerbaijan, ‘He will come to Turkey soon, in October or November? What kind of welcome will he receive?’ I want everyone to understand what kind of attitude such a short-sighted foreign policy will have on tax issues.”

DEM Party Diyarbakir deputy Cengiz Candar spoke at the parliamentary plenary session about the Felicity Party group’s proposal to “investigate the impact of unpaid taxes by large corporations on the economic crisis.”
Referring to a press release issued by the finance ministry in this regard today, Chandal said, “Today, the finance ministry issued a press release saying: ‘Who are the taxpayers who are not compliant with tax laws? They are the ones who are likely going to close the doors because for retirees, workers, small traders and the poor, the government’s power is enough.’If not, will the tax liability of 7.56 billion from 2013 to 2023 be cleared?,” he said.
“14 tax amnesty laws were passed during the AKP government.”
Çandar explained the AKP’s tax policy: “Meanwhile, there is information that Cengiz Inshaat was granted 30 tax exemptions over a 10-year period, Colin Inshaat 36, and Limak Inshaat and Kalyon Holding 19,” he criticized.
“How will Prime Minister Netanyahu be received if he comes to Türkiye?”
Çandar continued his speech by touching upon the motion passed by the Turkish Grand National Assembly yesterday condemning Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s speech in the US Congress, criticizing President Erdogan’s words, “Leave Prime Minister Netanyahu alone, and they will welcome him. They rolled out the red carpet for him, and they did it there.”
“Yesterday, the parliament issued a very correct statement condemning the attitude of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu in his parliamentary speech, and the president stood up and said, ‘If we release Netanyahu, they will welcome him with a red hat.’ The carpet was laid, and they did.” Now, I would like to appeal to your memory. It has not yet been a year, but in President Tayyip Erdogan’s statement on the plane returning from Azerbaijan on September 26, 2023, did he not mention that Prime Minister Netanyahu would come to Turkey soon, in October or November? What will it encounter and how will it be received? “I want you all to understand what kind of attitude such a short-sighted foreign policy will have regarding taxes.”
