NBA stars typically don’t have much success with their teams early in their careers. For many players, it takes years, even after a disappointing playoff run, for the tide to turn.
Boston Celtics stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are among the exceptions. They didn’t have to wait until they made the playoffs.
Game 1 of the 2024 Eastern Conference Finals begins Tuesday at TD Garden, with the Celtics taking on the Indiana Pacers. This will be Tatum and Brown’s fifth conference finals appearance in seven seasons as teammates. This will be Brown’s sixth appearance in the tournament.
They are two of only 11 players in the last 40 years to reach the conference finals in at least five of their first seven seasons.
All desires are here According to the NBA:
Jayson Tatum Jaylen Brown Draymond Green Tayshaun Prince Scottie Pippen Horace Grant Joe Dumars Dennis Rodman John Salley Byron Scott James Worthy
Of course, at the end of the day, all that really matters is winning the NBA Finals, especially for a franchise like the Celtics who are just flying the championship banner. Tatum and Brown have only appeared in the NBA Finals once, losing in six games to Curry’s Golden State Warriors in 2022.
However, this feat by Tatum and Brown is still very impressive. It’s easy to forget that they are still only 26 and he 27 respectively.
Al Horford commented on the Celtics advancing to the Eastern Conference Finals for the third straight year and sixth time in the past eight years.
