In Amasya, Dursun Şengül (54) shot and killed Halil Şener (45), the man his daughter had married a month earlier, with a hunting rifle at a gas station. Şengül’s daughter, Inci Şener (35), sustained minor injuries in the arm.
The incident occurred at around 10 pm at a gas station in the village of Yıldız in the city center. Şengyul’s daughter, Inci Eser, is said to have fled and married Halil Eser a month ago without her family’s consent. Her father, Dursun Şengyul, met his daughter, Inci Eser, and son-in-law, Halil Eser, at the gas station. During an argument between the two, Dursun Şengyul shot his son-in-law, Halil Eser, and daughter, Inci Eser, twice with a hunting rifle, who were in the car. Halil Eser died at the scene, and Inci Eser sustained minor injuries in her arm. Following a report, police, gendarmes and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. Paramedics intervened for Inci Eser. The groom’s relatives, who visited the area, were horrified.
Halil Eser’s body was taken to the morgue at Amasya University Sabunkuoğlu Serefedin Training and Research Hospital after a crime scene investigation. Dursun Şengul fled the scene in a car, but was captured by gendarmes armed with a weapon and taken into custody.
