MICHIGAN, USA — The documentary series “American Pickers” will be filmed in Michigan this August.
The History Channel documentary series explores the world of antiques “collecting.”
They follow people considered “skilled collectors” as they go in search of “America’s most valuable antiques.”
“It’s always fun to find unforgettable characters and their collections, as well as historically significant and unusual items,” the Wayland Area Chamber of Commerce said in a Facebook post.
“The Pickers are on a mission to recycle and rescue forgotten artifacts as they travel the back roads from coast to coast,” the post continued. “Along the way, they hope to meet people with amazing stories and fun items. They hope to breathe new life into historically significant items and learn all about America’s past along the way. The Pickers have seen a lot of rusty gold over the years, but are always on the lookout for something they’ve never seen before. They’re ready to find some amazing items and hear some fascinating stories about them.”
The post explains that the show will be searching for clues during its time in Michigan and “we’d love to find your hidden treasures.”
If you or someone you know has a unique item or story that you think is ready to sell, please email americanpickers@cineflix.com or call (646) 493-2184.
The show does not feature stores, flea markets, shopping malls, auction sites, museums or other locations that are open to the public.
