EXCLUSIVE: The History Channel’s hit survival series “Alone” is expanding into the audio world.
The History Channel will be launching a companion podcast to the show to coincide with the start of season 11.
The sit-alone show, Alone: The Official Podcast, is hosted by former contestants Lucas Miller and Carrie North, along with presenter Dan Brown.
The series will begin on Thursday, June 13, with episodes being released weekly starting the day after the show airs. It is produced by Spacestation.
The show will feature special guests, from current and past contestants to producers and celebrity fans.
In the upcoming season of the podcast, the three will go back in time and re-watch every episode from season one to the present.
This comes after the Australian version of the show, which airs on public broadcaster SBS, launched its own podcast.
The television series Alone is produced by Leftfield Pictures for ITV America and is executive produced by Shawn Witt, Ryan Pender and Rafael Monseratte of Leftfield and History’s Zachary G. Behr.
“History Channel is excited to offer Alone viewers a new weekly podcast that provides fans with additional exclusive content and in-depth commentary from former contestants and experts who know better than anyone what it takes to get through this experience,” said Eli Lehrer, executive vice president and head of programming, History Channel. “Fans will never tire of the showcase of courage and human perseverance shown in this series, and given the incredible success we’ve seen with Linear, we’re thrilled to partner with Space Station on this podcast to continue catering to our core audience across our brands.”
“‘Alone’ is one of the most visceral and innovative shows in its genre, and we can’t wait for fans to tune in and gain new insight into past seasons,” added Chris Vivion, president and executive producer of Spacestation. “Lucas, Carrie and Dan are the perfect hosts to delight both die-hard and new fans of ‘Alone’ – there’s something for everyone to enjoy in this highly anticipated series.”
