The Meteorological Directorate General (MGM) has issued a ‘yellow’ code thunderstorm warning for six states.

Thunderstorms expected in Gümüshhane, Bayburt, Erzurum, Kars, around and around Ardahan, and southern Artvin are expected to intensify after midday and become intermittently locally intense until the evening.
MGM warned people to be on the lookout for negative events such as sudden flooding, inundation, lightning strikes, localized hail, sudden high winds or short-term storms, and transportation disruptions.
3-day weather forecast for Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir
According to TRT Harbour, temperatures will gradually rise in Ankara, Istanbul and Izmir from the New Year.
No rain is expected in the three major cities for the next three days.
Temperatures are expected to reach 33-35 degrees Celsius in the capital and Istanbul, and 38 degrees Celsius in Izmir.
