Breaking news! Following the accident that took the life of Oguz Murat Asi in the Eyyupsurtan district of Istanbul, writer Eylem Tok, who fled with his incompetent son first to Egypt and then to the United States, has been captured.
Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunci announced the news on his social media accounts.
“According to information we received today from US Department of Justice officials, Eylem Tok and Timur Cihantimur were captured in the United States within the scope of our extradition request,” Tunci said.
Tunci said the ministry was closely monitoring the extradition process of Eylem Tok and his son.

On March 1, one of three ATVs traveling through Eyyup Sultan broke down, and as the broken-down vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road for repairs, one of two vehicles traveling in the same direction collided with the three ATVs.
Five people injured in the accident were rushed to hospital, one of the injured, Oguz Murat Asi, could not be saved despite intervention.

The investigation revealed that the 17-year-old driver, TC, who caused the accident, left in a car driven by his mother, Eylem Tok, who came to the scene, and headed to Istanbul Airport at around 2:00 a.m. and flew to Istanbul by plane with his mother at around 04:30 in Egypt.
Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Istanbul Chief Prosecutor’s Office, arrest warrants were issued against TC and Eylem Tok, who fled to Egypt, after which a letter was written to the Ministry of Justice requesting a red notice.

Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunci also announced that he had contacted Egyptian judicial authorities and forwarded temporary arrest requests to US authorities for the extradition of the suspects believed to have traveled to the US.
Ayşe Ceren S., a corporate communications specialist who worked at the workplace of the suspect’s father, Bulent Cihantimur, was arrested on charges of “aiding a criminal” and “concealing a mentally ill person,” and judicial enforcement measures were imposed against Cihantimur and AK, who handed over the lost mobile phone of one of the injured to the police after the accident.
Father Bulent Cihantimur also testified as a suspect on charges of favouritism. The judge also decided to impose judicial control measures against Bulent Cihantimur, including a signature obligation.
