The second semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024 has concluded with the selection of the 10 finalists for the Grand Final, which will be held on Saturday at Malmö Arena in Sweden.
The second Eurovision semi-final has concluded, with the final ten contestants set to compete in the final at Malmö Arena in Sweden on Saturday.
Among them is Greece, proudly represented by singer-songwriter Marina Satti.
Satti captivated audiences at the Eurovision press conference, answering questions that emphasised the unifying power of music.
A representative of the Turkish YouTuber’s channel asked: “I think today she represents not only Greece, but also the Balkans and, of course, Turkey. We are really united through music. What do you think about that?”
Satti replied: “I thank you for your kind words. Also, as Bulgaria and Romania are not here, let us send our greetings to them as well. It’s true, we love Turkey. I want to repeat what I said before. I had a music teacher who taught me the traditional scales of the Eastern Mediterranean region. We listened to Turkish, Greek, Iranian and Azerbaijani music. I was trying to understand why there are so many similarities and differences. My teacher said something I will never forget. He said that the culture and traditions of this region are much older than the current borders. So we share a lot with you. Thank you. Let them see (pointing to the girl holding the Greek and Turkish flags). Look at those two girls over there.”
Greece has qualified for the Eurovision 2024 final with a captivating performance of “Zari” sung by 37-year-old Satie. On stage at the semi-final on Thursday night in Malmo, Sweden, Satie was a mesmerizing presence, showcasing her raw singing and dancing talents that blended traditional Greek, Balkan and Anatolian sounds.
Known for her innovative blend of ethnic melodies and contemporary urban beats, Suttie first gained attention in 2016 when she founded the female a capella group Fones.
