Chicago’s iconic food festival, Taste of Chicago, has announced its food and music lineup for 2024.
Officials said the festival, which usually takes place in July, will take place in Grant Park from Sept. 6 to 8. The festival’s timing was changed due to major summer events in the city, including the NASCAR Chicago Street Races and the 2024 Democratic National Convention.
According to the announcement, the three-day festival will feature more than 40 food vendors and more than a dozen food trucks, as well as free performances by big name artists such as CeeLo Green, known for his 2010 hit “Forget You.”
“For more than 40 years, Taste of Chicago has grown into a world-class event, inviting Chicagoans and visitors alike to enjoy Chicago’s vast culinary and cultural ecosystem,” Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson said in the announcement. “In addition to renowned food experiences, we’re thrilled to welcome performing artists from Chicago and around the world to Grant Park for a weekend of entertainment, cuisine and community like no other.”
Leading up to the festival, Taste will be touring different Chicago neighborhoods hosting pop-ups for the big event, with officials saying one of those events will be held Saturday from 12pm to 8pm at Marquette Park on South Kedzie Avenue.
This weekend’s pop-up follows a similar one-day pop-up event held in Rogers Park on June 15, with a third one-day “Taste of Chicago” event planned for Aug. 17 in Pullman Park.
2024 Taste of Chicago Food Vendors
According to officials, food vendors at the 2024 Taste of Chicago include 90 Miles Cuban Cafe, African Food Palace, Arepa George, Arun’s Thai Restaurant, Badu Senegalese Cuisine, Banat, Billy Goat Tavern, BJ’s Market & Bakery, Chicago Eats Market, Chicago’s Dog House, Churro Factory (Churro), Connie’s Pizza, Cumin Club Indian Kitchen, Donut Dudes and Doom Street Eats. Some of the top restaurants include: Ellie’s Cheesecakes, Esperanza Kitchen Delights, Franco’s Ristorante, Franny’s Cafe, Gabby’s Funnel Cakes, Harold’s Chicken, JJ Thai Street Food, Josephine’s Cooking, Lou Malnatis Pizzeria, Mano Modern Cafe, Moore Poppin’ Chicago Gourmet Popcorn, Woo Wee It Is Restaurant, Ponce Restaurant, Pork Chop, Robinson’s No. 1 Ribs, Sapori Trattoria, Seoul Taco, Star of Siam Thai Restaurant, Tacotlán, Tandoor Char House, The Original Rainbow Cone, The Sole Ingredient Catering, Yum Dum, Yvolina’s Tamales, Zeitlin’s Delicatessen, and a wide variety of food trucks.
