Former Üsküdar mayor Hilmi Türkmen has criticised the CHP government by publishing a list criticising the sale of some municipal real estate in Üsküdar.
“I especially wanted to share this to show the true face of the CHP, which has been strongly opposed to any real estate sale, no matter how small, in Üsküdar for 20 years,” Turkmen said in the post, using the phrase “the municipality is being sold by its owners.”
I wanted to share this article especially so that people could see the true face of the CHP, who for 20 years have been strongly opposed to even the smallest property sales in Üsküdar.
The municipality is for sale by the owner!
The idea is to build a house here and then dispose of it bit by bit over a five-year period to balance the budget… pic.twitter.com/dJjfDkBZp8

Üsküdar Municipality: “Efforts to create awareness”
The statement on the issue was issued by Üsküdar Municipality, chaired by CHP’s Sinem Dedetaş.
In a statement denying the AKP Turkmen allegations, the following description was used:
“The social media posts about Uskudar Municipality selling the property are purely an attempt to create awareness.
The housing project was built during the rule of former AK Party mayor Hilmi Türkmen, and revenue from its sale was added to the 2024 budget.
Of the 5 billion lira budget planned for the city of Uskudar in 2024 in the previous period, 1.3 billion lira, or 27% of the budget, was to be covered by real estate sales.
Here’s what we see: The city’s budget is based on balancing property sales before the new administration takes over.
The property sales were carried out by the municipality between January 1 and March 31, 2023 and 2024.
Any posts suggesting that there are new sales plans are not true.
“We provide this as information to the public and to the neighbours of Uskudar.”
