Foreign Affairs: Release of KTMM Vice President Jelal welcomed.
Neriman Dzhellal, vice president of the Crimean Tatar National Assembly (KTMM), who was detained by Russian security forces in Crimea in 2021, was released yesterday as a result of exchanges agreed between Russia and Ukraine. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed Dzhellal’s release.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the release of Deputy Chairman of the Crimean Tatar National Assembly (KTMM) Neriman Dzhellal as a result of the exchanges agreed upon between Russia and Ukraine.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a written statement regarding the release of KTMM Vice President Jelal.
The statement said that within the framework of the agreement, the release of Dzhellal, who was detained and arrested in Crimea in September 2021 after attending the first summit of the Crimean Platform in August 2021 and subsequently served a prison sentence, is highly welcomed. The prisoner exchange has now been completed, and expressed gratitude to all parties who contributed to this process.
