DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) – Viewers will soon be able to watch a Dothan chef wow his opponents on a cooking competition show hosted by Food Network.
Home cook and food blogger Chelsea Gieselman was planning on attending a cooking audition, but instead, she was in for the biggest surprise of her life.
In the revival of Outchef’d, which enters its third season this week on Food Network, confident home cooks thought they were auditioning, only to be shocked to find out they were actually about to face off in a culinary battle against a famous, world-class chef.
To even the odds, the Food Network said the home cook only needs one vote from a randomly selected panel of judges drawn from the street to win the $5,000 grand prize. says.
Gieselman, who was in New York City for the contest, encourages her followers to eat and shop locally through her social media brand Southrngritskitchen.
Gieselman will be going up against celebrity chef Alex Guarnaschelli, currently executive chef at Butter restaurant in New York City and who has appeared on shows like “Iron Chef America” and “Chopped.”
The first episode of Outchef’d will premiere on Thursday, May 30th at 8:30pm CT.
Gieselman’s episode will air June 6th.
