Barry Krebs submitted reports and photos from three events: a community food distribution at Friendship Revival Center, a trash cleanup, and the removal of invasive plants at Heritage Park.
Food distribution at the Friendship Revival Center
Krebs writes:
Thanks to volunteers from LinkedUp Church who helped load cars at the First Christian Church Of Mableton and regular volunteers from the South Cobb Lions Club for Thursday’s food distribution. The distribution will take place from 4 to 5:30 pm at the Friendship Revival Center, 1880 Old Alabama Road. Food was provided and delivered by Sweetwater Mission. All of the volunteers did their best to make guests feel welcome and loved.
Cleaning up trash and removing invasive plants
Krebs writes:
Friends of Mableton, including City Council Member Patricia Oak and the South Cobb Lions, came together to remove 22 bags of trash from Fontaine Road and Nickajack Road. We dedicated this mile-long cleanup in memory of long-time volunteer Paul Sasko. We also had the opportunity to spend time with volunteers from the Georgia Native Plant Society, who installed new signs and removed invasive non-native plants from Heritage Park. Volunteer Craig also brought us a nutritious breakfast. We had a great time working together for the betterment of our community.
If you or a neighbor are interested in adopting One Mile, please contact Dawn at keepcobbbeautiful@cobbcounty.org so she can order the signage and provide you with the tools you need to keep One Mile beautiful.
