The elder was caught in a flood
After heavy rains caused flooding in Chaibashi district, it was discovered that an elderly woman, Hatice Kocakoc, 83 years old, lost her leg while passing through the culvert of Chai Mahallesi and fell into the water. Ordu Metropolitan Municipality and AFAD team arrived in the area soon after the incident. The team found Kocakoc’s body in Chai’ir district, 1 km away from the area swept away by the flood, where she had fallen into the water.

Sudden heavy rains in Muş have caused floods in Manzikert. The rains have caused great damage to the village of Bahçe, with many houses and farmland flooded.
Nazar Karatash, 20, was caught in the floodwaters and could not be rescued despite all efforts by those around him.
Karatas’ lifeless body was pulled from the floodwaters by search and rescue teams who arrived at the scene.

Villagers urged authorities that not enough precautions had been taken in an area where such natural disasters are frequent.
The Malazgirt Regional Governorate has launched an investigation into the incident and assigned emergency relief teams to flood-affected residents.
While Nazar Karatash’s family and loved ones are deeply saddened by the young woman’s untimely death, other residents of the village hope that work will be accelerated to remove the flood damage as soon as possible.

“It is clear that flood damage remains in our 15 districts. One of our elderly aunts was swept away by the flood and lost her life. We pray for God’s mercy on our aunt Hatice Kocakoci. Our work will continue in places with closed roads and negative events,” said Çaivaş mayor Mesut Karajıt.
