In the first game of the Turkish Basketball Super League playoff semifinal series, Fenerbahçe Beko defeated host Beşiktaş Emrakyet 96-88 to take a 1-0 lead in the series. The first quarter of the game ended in a 23-23 tie, but the hosts scored consecutive points to end the first half with an 8-point lead, 56-48. Fenerbahçe continued to apply pressure in the third period and took a 78-65 lead into the final quarter. With both teams trading points to end the final period, the yellow-and-navy team won 96-88 to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Nigel Hayes-Davis was the game’s leading scorer with 29 points for Fenerbahçe Beko. Derek Needham played for Beşiktaş Emrakyet with 24 points.
The second match, in which the team with three wins will advance to the final, will be hosted by Fenerbahce Beko at 8:30pm on Saturday, June 1st at the Ulker Sports and Events Hall.
