Fatih Terim made the statement to O Jogo in the Portuguese press before the Turkiye vs Portugal match.
Terim made a noteworthy statement about national team and Real Madrid star Arda Güler.
Fatih Terim said Arda Güler is an extraordinary talent, saying, “He’s always very close to the goal and can do anything with the ball. He’s only 19 but when he has the ball, he’s just that talented.” After developing at Genslerbilli and Fenerbahçe, he moved to Real Madrid. “When he went to Spain, I spoke to him and told him we are proud of him and I believe in him and I wished him success,” he said.
Stating that Arda Güler has always wanted to play, Terim said: “It is very important to have the right plan in place. He has worked with Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid so he will receive the right assessment. In recent years, players such as Choameni, Diaz, Valverde and Camavinga have gradually started to join Real Madrid. “He is integrated into the team’s system but I believe Arda Güler will accelerate this development. It is exciting to think of him alongside Kylian Mbappé and Vinicius Junior next season,” he said.
Meanwhile, Fatih Terim said Arda Güler could also be a contender for the Ballon d’Or one day.
“If he thinks about his career in the right way, and I hope he stays healthy and injury-free, then one day we can talk about it among the Ballon d’Or candidates, I’ll be the first to say,” the experienced manager said.
