Rio Ferdinand has revealed in a slick promotional video that he has undergone a hair and beard transplant at a Turkish clinic.
The England and Manchester United legend visited Istanbul’s Dr. Cinik Hospital for treatment.
In a social media video published by Dr. Chinik, Ferdinand, 45, who is currently a popular TV pundit on TNT Sports, said: of the patch.
“Get your hair transplant surgery done. I can’t wait to get it done. Listen, if you’re looking to get your work done, this is the place to be.
The video shows Ferdinand arriving at the clinic wearing shades, greeting Dr. Muhamet Emra Chinik, and undergoing various stages of hair replacement treatment.
England and Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has revealed that he underwent hair and beard transplant surgery at a clinic in Istanbul. Finally, he will be seen signing a Manchester United shirt, in addition to similar memorabilia presented by other footballers who have visited the clinic.
In one shot, Ferdinand can be seen admiring a collection of signed shirts, including shirts from Liverpool, Marseille, Brazil and Croatia.
The video was released on Monday, but it is not clear exactly when Ferdinand visited. He was part of TNT’s pundit team for June’s Champions League final in Istanbul and for United’s trip to Galatasaray in the group stage in November.
According to the company’s website, Ryan Babel and Bakary Sagna have also visited for hair transplant surgeries, while David Trezeguet and Diego Lugano have visited for dental work.
Ferdinand and his wife Kate, 32, have two children, son Cree and daughter Shay.
He had three children with his first wife, Rebecca Ellison, Lorenz, Tate, and Tia, but she died of breast cancer in 2015 at the age of 34.
Ferdinand’s former England and United teammate Wayne Rooney underwent a hair transplant in 2011 and again in 2013.
After his first hair removal session, he said, ‘I was 25 and I was going bald, why not?’ I’m happy with the results.”
Back in 2021, Ferdinand revealed that he used brown dye to cover up the gray hair on his face, but insisted he was not “ashamed” of the aging process.
