BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) – To combat food insecurity, KBTX has partnered with the Brazos Valley Food Bank in an effort to end summer hunger.
Our Summer Hunger Food Drive sponsors are accepting food donations throughout the month of June.
“Texas summers are known to be very hot, which means energy bills skyrocket,” said Amanda Stark of the Brazos Valley Food Bank. “Fixed-income people in our area may be forced to make tough choices between food and energy bills, with food being the bigger cut.”
Paradowski Law is handing out gifts such as hats, candy, koozies and T-shirts to anyone who stops by to make a donation.
You’ll also be entered into a drawing to win a gift card.
“We’re doing a raffle, if you bring 10 items or $10 you’ll be entered into a drawing and five people will win a $100 HEB gift card and a bike,” said Chrissy McBride with Paradowski Law Firm.
Paradowski Law has donated $1,000 to the Summer Hunger Food Drive to help Brazos Valley families in need.
“Everybody is struggling. Our community needs help. Some people are on fixed incomes, some are single parent families, their kids are on summer break. We want to get involved because the need is so great. We’re called to love and care for each other,” said Stacey Hines of Paradowski Law Firm.
