The fourth hearing in the case surrounding the murder of Ankara’s former Urucu Ocaklar chairman Sinan Ateş, which began on Monday, was held today.
The hearing, held by the Ankara 32nd High Criminal Court in the hall of the Sincan Prison Campus, was attended by the defendants, the parties’ lawyers, the accuser Ayşe Ateş, Sinan Ateş’s mother Saniya Ateş, his siblings and relatives.
CHP Chairman Ozgur Ozer, Democratic Party Chairman Gültekin Uysal, CHP Deputy Chairman Murat Bakan and Meryem Gül Şivci Binici also attended the hearing.
The hearing heard statements from defendants Alper Atay, Erdem Karadeniz and Mustafa Ensar Aykal.
The plaintiffs were then given a promise. First, they listened to Atesh’s mother, Saniya Atesh. Atesh said that he had been “dying and coming back to life” for 18 months, and said, “I am the living dead, but in the last four days I have died 22 more times. It’s like I am dead. Everyone is innocent, but my son committed suicide with a gun,” she said.
“They pulled my rope.”
Ateş said his son came to him and said: “Mom, they broke my pen. They are going to assassinate me,” he added.
“One day he came to visit me with a steel vest on his back. I said, ‘Son, why are you wearing the vest?’ and he said, ‘Mom, they pulled on my rope, but maybe they won’t forgive me.’ “After the Çagül Üner incident, I received a call. The brother of the dead child called and threatened my son. He said, ‘Your blood is not on my hands. Ask Olkhai Reber, Ahmet İzit Yıldırım and İzzet Ülvi Yonter.’ ‘Mom, what should I tell them?’ I said, ‘Son, go and tell this to Devlet Bahçeli. He has not taken my son many times.’ Is he the president of Uruş Oçaklal?
He got sick in the hearing room.
Saniya-e Atesh said that before her son was killed, he had received numerous threats and attempts to kill him.
Explaining that he waited 18 months for his son’s killers to appear in court, Ateş said, “How many more Sinanese will die? Do they know why they killed my Sinanese? Someone is saying ‘money’. My son will go home and they will even give him money. I am a Turkish man and an idealist. But I am not the idealist they believe me to be. What was the reason for killing my son? I demand that those who killed my son be held accountable. These people will definitely be done. Exposed.” he said.
Sanieh Ateş became ill and began to clutch his nerves while making his statement. The presiding judge called a break from the hearing and called for paramedics, who treated Ateş in a room outside the courtroom.
Meanwhile, Ayse Ateş said: “If this woman dies here, I will hold all of you responsible.”
“They defended themselves with all sorts of lies.”
“We will not accept condolences from the criminals involved in Sinan’s murder and their relatives,” plaintiff Ayse Ateş said during the hearing in court.
Ateş said he had patiently listened to “scenarios and lies” written by the defendants since the start of the proceedings. “Now let the court hear the facts. Listen to how you will act as a pure scholar, husband and father. The father of my two daughters was murdered, your excellency, and he was in front of you for three days. “They defended themselves with all kinds of lies,” he said.
“They were looking for a miller who had been hired to kill me.”
Ayşe Ateş said in a statement:
“My late wife told me many times that ‘Ayşe, Olukai Reber and Ahmet Yıldırım were looking for hitmen to kill me and were visiting house to house.’ After Sinan stepped down, they first started making threats and insults from bots,” he said. From the account Orhun Harbour, “They made all kinds of slander under the title ‘Firestorm.’ The owner of this Orhun News site, Mert Kerim Eder, started a slander campaign against my wife. Following the instructions of Ahmet Yıldırım, all these slanders are baseless lies and as a result, my wife was killed.”
Ateş said that his wife’s friends who were with him during this period were also threatened, saying, “The Mersin incident triggered this incident. Çal Üner is a close friend of my wife. In the evening, he spoke to Çal on the phone.” And he said, “Brother, these people are excited, be careful.” Çal also said. He said he was with my wife. Then, on the instructions of Ahmet İzit Yıldırım, 11 people attacked Çal Üner. Çalul also fired a gun to protect himself, and one person died. The killers of the child were Ahmet İzit Yıldırım and senior officials of the Ülkü Oçaklal headquarters, and “I am targeting the criminal organizations that have infiltrated MHP and Ülkü Oçaklal.” He said.
After the Uner incident, he told his wife: “Sinan, they are crazy, leave them alone and let’s go.” Ayşe Ateş explained that her husband did not accept this and said: “I have done nothing wrong, the state will protect me.” She said he replied:
“There are dark criminal organisations out there.”
“They are a criminal organisation that is working against the state. The president of our country said, ‘My daughter, I promise you that the killers will be arrested,'” Ateş said, noting that his wife had conveyed these words during a meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. “The scene I have been observing for three days in this courtroom is right before my eyes,” he said. “There is a shadowy criminal organisation that is challenging the will of the president.”
Regarding the allegations that he and his wife are members of FETO, Ateş said, “If I am a member of FETO and Sinan is also a member of FETO, then go and file a criminal complaint against us.”
Regarding her statement that her husband ordered her to beat several people while at work, Ayşe Ateş said, “My wife beat someone. Then I confronted Sinan and said, ‘You are a scholar. These things do not suit you, why are you doing this?’ Are you doing this? I said, ‘Ayşe, I am following the instructions of the MHP headquarters, and if you do not follow them, they will also fine me.'” “As a matter of fact, after some time, my late husband was fired by Devlet Bahçeli without giving any reason. Maybe he knew something, maybe he did not follow their instructions,” he said.
He was the first to give it the name
Ateş said he would make a statement to the court to allow for further investigation and that until now he had not been able to say what he needed to say for fear of being killed.
Ayse Ateş’s husband, Sinan Ateş, claimed that “Izzet Ülvi Yonter and Semi Yalçin gave the orders to Olkhai Reber and Ahmet İzit Yıldırım. They are looking for hitmen to kill me.”
Ayshe Ateş demanded in court: “I want my statements accepted as they are, this additional information added, the 17 suspects separated from the file, the people I named undergo interrogation and a fair trial, and the missing statements clarified. Please submit promptly, merge these two files and fill in the gaps. I demand a fair trial.” He listed them as follows:
The voices of the ATEŞ brothers were heard
Sinan Ateş’s sister, Selma Kazanci, said her grandfather, father and mother were idealists and had nothing against the community.
Kazanci said, “We work in many institutions of Uluk Ocaklar and we are proud of it, but the people who infiltrated there have nothing to do with the people of the time we were in. I am not slandering the MHP or Uluk Ocaklar.” Ahmet Yıldırım and Olukai Reber felt stomach pains, and during the next period, Sinan said, “They broke my pen.” He said..
Sinan Ates’ sister, Sevda Ates Yolkoğlu, also said she wanted justice and had confidence in Turkish justice.
Yolkoll explained that his brother started wearing the steel vest after receiving threats, saying, “After my brother put on the steel vest, they told us to be careful. There have been attempts to assassinate Sinan in many places. Elai Ojaci says he killed Sinan. Dokan Cepu said he instigated it. Yes, Elai killed Sinan.” “Perhaps, but Dokan claims he was only the instigator.” He made the statement.
To be continued tomorrow
After the statements, the presiding judge called the fourth hearing to an end, but he said he would continue to write the verdict later in the hearing.
