TSA travel tips
To ensure the smooth functioning of TSA checkpoints, Cleveland Hopkins International Airport is reminding everyone to have their government-issued identification readily available.
Before coming to the airport, check your baggage to make sure it does not contain any prohibited items. All three CLE checkpoints have Advanced Imaging Technology (AIT) equipment for screening passengers. Be prepared for metal detectors and x-ray machines for carry-on luggage. Remember the TSA 3-1-1 rule for carry-on luggage: three ounces per container in a clear, one-quart bag, one per passenger. Items such as knives, sharp scissors, and pepper spray are prohibited in carry-on luggage. For a comprehensive list of prohibited and permitted items, see the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) website at www.tsa.gov. Carry-on luggage is limited to one bag and one personal item per person. Personal items include purses, briefcases, and laptop bags.
Clothes such as jackets and jackets must be removed for an X-ray examination.
Children under the age of 12 do not require identification and do not need to remove their shoes before passing through security.
