USA Today ranked the top 10 best fast-food restaurants in the country, and Chick-fil-A fell from the top spot.
PHOENIX — Put down the chicken sandwich and grab a taco: America has a new top fast-food restaurant, according to the latest rankings from USA Today.
For nearly a decade, Chick-fil-A has reigned as the best place to get fast food. But the restaurant famous for using cows to get people to “eat more chicken” is no longer. Chick-fil-A has fallen from the top spot to third place. The new champion may be a surprise.
USA Today ranked Del Taco as the top fast-food restaurant in the country.
“The popular taco joint serves up a variety of satisfying Mexican dishes, including burritos, quesadillas and nachos. They also serve burgers and fries. Additionally, Del Taco has a dedicated breakfast menu and vegan and vegetarian options,” USA Today’s ranking states.
Del Taco has 40 stores across Arizona.
KFC also surpassed Chick-fil-A to come in second on the rankings, thanks to its “finger-licking good” chicken that continues to be loved by people across the US.
Following Chick-fil-A in third place was In-N-Out Burger in fourth place, Hardee’s/Carl’s Jr. in fifth place, Captain Dee’s in sixth place, Taco Bell in seventh place, Popeyes in eighth place, Zaxby’s in ninth place and Arby’s in tenth place.
Great place to eat
It’s one of USA Today’s recent top 10 lists of the best places to eat and drink in the country.
QDOBA Mexican Eats was named the top fast-casual restaurant in the country, beating out Torchy’s Tacos and BurgerFi.
Biscuitville, a chain that operates in Virginia and the Carolinas, was named the top breakfast restaurant, beating out Del Taco and Jack in the Box.
The best fast food burger was The Habit Burger Grill’s Double Char, which beat out In-N-Out’s Double-Double and BurgerFi’s BBQ Rodeo Burger.
Jollibee took the title of best fast food fried chicken, beating out Pollo Campero and Guthrie’s Chicken.
Del Taco was named the fast food restaurant with the best fries, beating out Jack in the Box and McDonald’s.
Habit Burger Grill’s tempura green beans were named best fast food side, beating out Golden Chick’s fried okra and Jack in the Box’s onion rings.
El Pollo Loco was named the best restaurant for quick and healthy meals, beating out Taziki’s Mediterranean Café and Tropical Smoothie Cafe.
And in the end, PrimoHoagies was named the top sandwich shop, beating out Subway and Potbelly Sandwich Works.
