The Chicago Cubs defeated the Cincinnati Reds 7-5 on Saturday night to improve to 29-30 on the season.
In this victory, outfielder Seiya Suzuki had a historic performance at the plate, recording two hits in four at-bats and four RBIs.

Not only did Suzuki hit a home run, he also hit a game-tying grand slam in the bottom of the second inning to make the score 4-4 at that point.
The 29-year-old Japan native is batting .265 with six home runs and 23 RBIs this season. Now in his third season in the United States, he is batting .274 with 40 home runs and 143 RBIs. Following his career in Japan, he signed a five-year contract with the Cubs ahead of the 2022 season.
In addition to Suzuki’s performance, the Cubs also got Dansby Swanson’s fifth home run of the year.
The Cubs are 29-30 and in second place in the National League Central heading into Sunday’s game. The Reds are in last place at 25-33.
The teams will meet again on Sunday afternoon at Wrigley Field with first pitch scheduled for 2:20 pm ET. Nick Lodolo will take the mound for Cincinnati and rookie Ben Brown will take the mound for Chicago.
Lodolo has a 4-2 record with a 3.12 ERA, while Brown is 1-1 with a 2.72 ERA.
