ROCHESTER, Minn. – Channel One Regional Food Bank has partnered with DoorDash to get help to more people in need.
The partnership was launched in November 2022 as a way to help people get groceries delivered to their homes.
“When people don’t have access to the food they need, it’s a huge problem for the health of our entire community,” said Jessica Sand, development director for Channel One Regional Food Bank.
For those who are unable to leave their homes or have difficulty getting to the grocery store, the food bank is an option, currently making 70-100 deliveries each month for those in need.
She says, “It’s been great to see so many people reach out to us asking how they can access the food shelf if they don’t have a car or transportation or the means to get here. Not only do we have the option for delivery, but we also have the option to send a representative to do the shopping for them.”
Our partnership with DoorDash helps more people have access to what they need.
“But these deliveries actually fill a need that food pantries can’t fill by getting food directly to people’s homes,” Sand said.
