Free SNAP or WIC admission is available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, beginning Saturday, during Weather Fest.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Some of the state’s most amazing attractions are right here on the coast, and you don’t have to be a tourist to enjoy them. Whether indoors or outdoors, day or night, there seems to be plenty to do for anyone wanting to experience South Texas life.
When building your bucket list, you’re sure to want to include a stop at the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, and now, thanks to a partnership with the national Museums for All initiative, more people than ever can visit the museum for free.
“It’s open to anyone who has a SNAP or WIC card,” said Veronica Montes with the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History, “so when you arrive at the museum, you just show your ID and your card and your whole family, up to six members of your household, can enter.”
Free SNAP or WIC admission will be available from 10am to 6pm daily starting Saturday, which also marks the day KIII will host Weather Fest in partnership with the museum.
“Again, this is about bringing more awareness to the community about hurricane preparedness and the local ecosystem and how the weather plays a big role,” Montes said.
Ask questions as 3NEWS’ team of weather forecasters bring the weather to life with live experiments and demonstrations. Kids will also get to take part in “Colour the Weather” and be projected onto a green screen with the same set-up used every day at KIII Studios.
June 1 also marks the start of hurricane season, and attendees will have the chance to get their first look at the 2024 Hurricane Special before it airs on 3NEWS at 6:30 that evening.
