Clark’s stats clearly won’t stop at the collegiate level. The 22-year-old is making WNBA history after recording her first triple-double in her rookie season. Kaitlyn recorded 19 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists as Indiana snapped a nine-game losing streak at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Clark nearly achieved the milestone two games ago in an 88-82 win over the Phoenix Mercury. The No. 1 WNBA draft pick scored 11 points in the first quarter and made 3 of 4 three-pointers. Kaitlyn surpassed double figures in assists in the third quarter and 10 rebounds in the fourth quarter.
ESPN reports on Clark’s long list of accomplishments. During her senior year with the Iowa Hokies, Kaitlyn was named the preseason Big Ten Player of the Year. She became the school’s all-time leading scorer and recorded the most 30-point games by either a boy or girl at the Division I level in the past 25 seasons. She was also named the Big Ten Tournament Outstanding Player. Additionally, Clark became the Big Ten’s leading scorer and the first D1 female athlete to score at least 1,000 points in two seasons. Additionally, she became the most points scored in a single season in D1 women’s history.
