The hamburger is probably already the most beloved entree in America, but even so, it deserves its own special day.
This year’s Burger Day is Tuesday, May 28th. Get ready to eat some burgers!
According to YouGov’s regularly updated list of “Most Popular American Dishes,” the hamburger and its close relative, the cheeseburger, are Americans’ favorite main dishes. Only mashed potatoes and French fries rank slightly higher (each of these side dishes is 86% popular), with the hamburger at 85% and the cheeseburger at 83%.
An estimated 50 billion hamburgers are eaten in the United States each year.
You probably grilled up burgers for yourself, family and friends over Memorial Day weekend, but if you’d rather have someone do it for you, USA TODAY has found some of the best deals in the U.S. for National Burger Day. (And be sure to check your local restaurants’ social media accounts for even more deals.)
