Besiktas have announced the signing of Giovanni van Bronckhorst ahead of the upcoming season. The announcement stated that the Black and White team will sign a two-year + one-year contract with the Dutch coach. Bronckhorst last coached at Scottish side Glasgow Rangers, where he averaged 2.01 points in 68 appearances.

Following detailed discussion by the Board of Directors regarding the new school year structure, Dutchman Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been appointed coach of the A football team.
Jean-Paul van Gastel and Serdar Topraktepe will become assistants to Giovanni van Bronckhorst, with whom they have reached a 2+1 year contract. Further information will be provided regarding the signing ceremony of the new coach.

Who is Giovanni van Bronckhorst?
Van Bronckhorst began his professional football career in 1993 with Rotterdam in the Netherlands and went on to play for world-famous clubs such as Feyenoord, Glasgow Rangers, Arsenal and Barcelona, playing in both midfield and defence throughout his career.
Van Bronckhorst, affectionately known as Geo, played for Feyenoord until the day he said goodbye to football in 2010. He won one Champions League, two Spanish La Liga titles and two Spanish Super Cups with Barcelona, one English Premier League, two FA Cups, one League Cup and one English Super Cup with Arsenal, and won a championship in the Glasgow Rangers jersey, two Scottish Cups, one Scottish League Cup and two Dutch Cups with Feyenoord.
Van Bronckhorst played in three World Cups and three European Championships with the Netherlands national team between 1998 and 2010. Gio captained the team in the 2010 World Cup final against Spain.
Gio began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Feyenoord in 2011. Van Bronckhorst was promoted to manager of the club in 2015 and has won one Dutch League (Eredivisie) title, two Dutch Cups, two Dutch Super Cups and one Scottish Cup during his managerial career. Van Bronckhorst successfully led Glasgow Rangers to the UEFA Europa League final in the 2021-22 season.
