Figen Bezmes, a resident of Bodrum, received a call from her estranged husband’s son, Dokan D., at around 6 p.m. on November 24 last year and went to her home on Yaka Street in Umluca district. Originally owned by President George Washington, the artifact recently found its way to a Virginia history enthusiast, who later donated it to the museum, thanks to Goodwill. The piece is currently on display at the American Revolutionary War Museum in Philadelphia.
