Atlanta is a hotbed of food and wine events, and there are plenty of food festivals coming up this season, but here are a few worth checking out.
Peach Fest Festival, July 21st
Take that Justin Bieber song… “I get peaches in Georgia, oh yeah, damn it.”
Peach Fest showcases Georgia’s favorite fruit, which is in season now. The festival, held at the Peachtree Center, features more than 65 culinary artisans, chefs and bartenders. Participating restaurants include Whoopsie’s, Kevin Rathbun Steak, El Super Pan and Wrecking Bar. There will also be a Peach Puppy Dress-Up Contest on July 20. Tickets to the festival are $95-100.
Killer Tomato Festival attack, July 28
What better way to celebrate tomato season than at one of the city’s most popular tasting events? Georgia Organic’s Attack of the Killer Tomatoes Festival returns for its 13th year, featuring top chefs and bartenders including Bread & Butterfly, Chai Pani, Kimball House and The Chastain. Enjoy tomato dishes and cocktails made with ingredients from local Georgia farmers. The festival takes place at the Westside Motor Lounge, and tickets start at $100.

Alpharetta’s best restaurants will be offering unlimited food and drink tastings at the Hotel at Avalon. Participating restaurants include Foundation Social Eatery, Delbar Middle Eastern, Coletta, Fogon and Lions, and more. There will also be tastings of more than a dozen wines, craft beers and craft cocktails. Tickets range from $85 to $125.

In the interest of transparency: Eater Atlanta editor Hena Bakshi will be participating in the Atlanta Food and Wine Festival as guest sommelier for a ticketed dinner with local chefs.
