How the suspect who attempted to assassinate US presidential candidate Donald Trump planned the attack and why he carried it out remains a mystery.
The bullet missed Donald Trump.
President Trump was shot in the ear at a rally in Pennsylvania. One person in the crowd behind him was killed and two were seriously injured. The attacker, Matthew Thomas Crooks (20), died.
According to AA News, the FBI, investigating the assassination attempt, cracked the password to Crooks’ cell phone and searched his computer, home and car.
The attacker was found to have been in contact with over 100 people, with no clues as to how or why he carried out this attack against Trump.
The officials, who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation, noted that the scammers had not left any postings, notes, social media comments or other traces.
It is not clear whether he carried out the attack alone or with others.

During his high school years, Crooks was reportedly teased and sometimes bullied by friends for wearing clothing that resembled hunting gear, and he briefly tried to join the high school rifle team but was rejected because he wasn’t good at shooting.
After high school, Crooks attended a two-year college and was hardworking enough to graduate with an engineering degree.
