Serafettin Bahadur, the CHP’s candidate for city council in Kayseri’s Pinarbasi district in the March 31 elections, was first beaten and then attacked with a gun.
It was alleged that Ader Uzunluogu, the brother of former Pinarbaşı mayor and MHP leader Mendu Uzunluogu, and his associates carried out an armed attack on Bahadur in the evening in the presence of his daughter.
Elections in the Pinarbas district were canceled following opposition from the MHP, and ballot boxes were re-run on June 2nd in accordance with a decision by the district’s electoral commission.
After the re-election, CHP candidate Deniz Ya’an received 6,783 votes, while MHP candidate Mendu Ouznoglu received 6,0494 votes.
A play called “Topal”, written by Serafettin Bahadur after the election, was interpreted as a reference to Mendu Uzunluogu.

CHP Kayseri Deputy Ashkin Genç spoke to the ANKA news agency about the armed attack. Young said:
