AKP Adiyaman provincial chairman Emra Erkan Buruk issued a press statement saying he had resigned from his position.
Mayor Buruku, who served at various levels of the AKP for about 15 years, most recently as Adiyaman Provincial Chairman for a year and a half, said: “We are all people who have been given honor and dignity. In our country, work is not something that is asked for, it is something that is given. No matter what position I have held in the organization so far, we have always strived to do our best with a sense of the cause and a special love for Chairman and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.”
As everyone knows, during the period when I assumed the role of state chairman, Adiyaman was recovering from the February 6 disaster. After being assigned this job, we realized how important our responsibility is and how sensitive it is. We have carried out this process dynamically, working diligently to get the organization back on its feet and providing its mobilization in a very short period of time so that as an organization we are ready for the May 14th elections. It’s all set. The sole topic of our field study was to focus on earthquakes and the problems and difficulties faced by earthquake victims. As you know, our country achieved a great victory on May 14th due to the trust and goodwill of our people. AK Party emerged as the first political party in all our districts, especially in Adiyaman Center.
“Unexpected results in the central district…”
Similarly, our Shinchik, Samsat, Gergar and Kakhta districts became one of the champion districts in the whole of Turkiye. We were happy to experience this pride together. We also had the honor of achieving a resounding victory in the presidential election held again on May 28th. As mentioned above, we have experienced a very dynamic process in this short period of time. On the one hand, we are working to resolve the issues of residents and earthquake victims, and on the other hand, we have also completed preparations for local government elections. Throughout our province of Adiyaman, we achieved great successes, especially district by district, but we were greatly affected by the fact that in the central district we faced unexpected results.
The decisions our country has made are our crowning glory as a movement that believes in democracy. In order to facilitate the next process, I, as a member of the party, have requested the headquarters to pardon me from my position as the honorable chairman of the Do Committee. Of course, this is not the end. On the contrary, it is the beginning. As always, with God’s permission, we will continue to defend the cause of AK and the President, the concept of overtime, and always stand by the world’s leaders. “With these feelings and thoughts, I would like to express my infinite gratitude to all the precious citizens who have supported me in prayer up until now,” he said.
Mayor of Rize region also resigns
AKP Rize provincial chairman Hikmet Ayar said in a statement yesterday that he is not satisfied with the results of the March 31 local elections, deeming them a “failure” and announcing that he is resigning. Ayar said he resigned before the election, but it was not accepted.
