The 3rd European Amputee Football Championship was held in Évian-les-Bains, Haute-Savoie, France.
Turkey faced Spain in the final at the Camille Fournier Stadium.
The national team finished the first half with a 1-0 lead, thanks to a goal from captain Rahmi Ozkan in the 15th minute.
Turkey made it 2-0 with a brilliant goal from Omer Gülerüz from a corner kick in the 28th minute, and then increased the lead to three with a penalty goal from Fatih Senturk in the 33rd minute, making it 3-0.
Turkiye wins third straight title
The Amputee Football National Team maintained their dominance for the rest of the game and left the field with a 3-0 victory.
Turkey successfully won the European Championships in 2017 and 2021, marking three consecutive years of victories.
Omer Gülerüs, who was the top scorer with 16 goals, also won the Best Player Award.
Turkiye won all six of his matches in France and retained his title as the “unbeaten” team at the European Championships.
The national team had won a total of 11 matches in the past two European Championships.
The national team achieved great success at the European Championships, winning all 17 matches.
Turkiye scored 104 goals and conceded six in European Championship matches.
The national team lifted the “first cup” in Istanbul
Crescent Star players also brought cups back to the museum from the European Championships in 2017 and 2021.
The European Amputee Football Championship was first organised by the Confederation of European Amputee Football (EAFF) in 2017 and hosted by Istanbul.
The national team, which had not allowed their opponents a chance to score until the final, played the deciding match at the Beşiktaş Stadium. In the championship final, the Stars and Crescent faced England, defeating them 2-1 to win the “First Cup”.
The national team, which has long made a name for itself in this championship, has since added new successes to its list.
The national team also went into the European Championships in Poland in 2021 as favourites to win.
Having defeated their institutional opponents in Krakow, Turkije faced Spain in the final.
The national Amputee soccer team easily defeated their opponents 6-0 in the final match and returned to Turkey with the trophy.
The World Cup is also in the museum.
The Amputee national football team, who held on to their rivals in the top spot in Europe, enjoyed the joy of winning the last World Cup.
The national team climbed the ladder to cup competitions one by one, and at the 2007 World Cup in Antalya they came in third, becoming the first team in the group’s history to finish in the top three.
Turkiye enjoyed consistent success in cup competitions after that, finishing as world number three in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
The national team reached the final of the 2018 Amputee Football World Cup in Mexico, and played in the championship match for the first time in the team’s history. The national team lost to Angola in a penalty shootout in the final, narrowly missing out on a place in the cup.
Turkiye faced Angola again in the organizational final, this time in 2022. Defeating their opponents 4-1, the Amputee national football team won the World Cup for the first time in their 2018 rematch against Angola.

Minister of Youth and Sports Osman Ashkin Bak sent a message of congratulations to the Amputee national football team for becoming European champions for the third consecutive year.
Minister Osman Ashkin Baq included the following statement in his congratulatory speech:
“I congratulate the Amputee Football National Team for becoming European champions for the third consecutive year after defeating Spain in the final of the European Amputee Football Championship held in Evian-les-Bains, Haute-Savoie, France. This success of our National Amputee Football Team is due to their determination. “It is the clearest sign that no obstacle can stand against belief and conviction. I sincerely congratulate all the technical team, the administration and the families of the athletes who contributed to the championship. I wish our national footballers every success in the future.”
