Fenerbahce drew 1-1 with Admira Wacker in the first friendly match of their Austria camp.
Fenerbahce took to the field in the match at the BSFZ Arena in the Austrian capital Vienna. Ertugrul Çetin-Osay-Samuel, Zik, Bekao, Oosterwolde, Krunic, Baltug Elmas, Fred, Cengiz Ünder, Sejc and Dzeko started in their starting 11. Hosts Admira Wacker’s starting 11 was Jungwirth, Horvat, Holzmann, Malicek, Ebner, Pučka, Weberbauer, Haudoum, Gassi, Young and Alar.
In the seventh minute, Admira Wacker attacked and Gashi passed the ball to Pučka, who entered the penalty area from the left wing and slid the ball to the back post, where Young rolled it into the empty goal to give his team the lead: 1-0.
In the 21st minute, Cengiz Ünder received the ball on the right wing, evaded his opponent and fell to the ground due to Holtzmann’s intervention, and the referee awarded a penalty kick.
In the 22nd minute, Edin Dzeko scored a penalty to tie the score at 1-1.
The first half of the match ended 1-1.
In the 71st minute, Emre Mor entered the penalty area from the left wing after receiving a through pass from Dzeko and crossed the ball towards the penalty spot, where it was touched by Izit Efe Demir and went back into the post.
No other goals were scored and the match finished 1-1.
The yellow and blue team will face Hajduk Split on Wednesday, July 10th and Strasbourg on Saturday, July 13th in the second friendlies of their Austria camp.
Mourinho’s only substitution at half-time
Fenerbahçe manager Jose Mourinho made one change at the start of the second half against Admira Wacker. The Portuguese coach took Miha Zajc off the field at half-time and replaced him with Ryan Kent. Meanwhile, the yellow-and-blue team saw Rade Krunic, Rodrigo Becao and Bright Osay-Samuel taken off in the 69th minute, with Yusuf Akçiçek, Levent Mercan and Izit Efe Demir coming on as substitutes. In the 77th minute, Emir Ortakaya replaced Jayden Oosterwolde and Umut Nayir came on for Edin Dzeko.
Four players were not on the team.
Four players from the yellow and blue team were left out of the squad for the match against Admira Wacker. Fenerbahce’s Mert Hakan Yandas, Serdar Aziz, Miguel Crespo and Çarar Söyuncu were not included in the squad for that match.
