Cihantimur Tok, who was driving a luxury car without a license in Istanbul on March 1, killing father-of-one Oguz Murat Asi, fled first to Egypt with his mother and from there to the United States, where he is currently a citizen.
Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunci announced that Eylem Tok and his son, Cihantimur Tok, were detained in the United States as part of Turkey’s extradition request. Tunci issued a new statement at midnight announcing that Tok and his son had been arraigned in a Boston court. A hearing to review their detention will be held on June 18.

According to Reuters, Eylem Tok and his son Timur Cihantimur were arrested following an extradition request from Turkey as they were on their way to visit an expensive private school in Boston where annual tuition fees cost $46,000.
