COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — Giant Eagle is joining a discount pricing trend that is gaining momentum after widespread efforts to tackle inflation.
The food retailer announced in a news release its new seasonal pricing “Deals for Days” campaign, which aims to save customers “an estimated $7.5 million” by lowering the prices of more than 1,000 items. The first “Deals for Days” campaign will run from May 30 to July 31 and will focus on summer favorites and other items that are popular during the season.
“At Giant Eagle, we’re committed to listening to and responding to our customers, and right now they’re telling us they need better ways to save on the products that matter most to them,” said Brian Ferrier, senior vice president of merchandising at Giant Eagle. “We’re confident we’ve delivered great savings across our stores, easing the strain on budgets and encouraging summer celebrations that everyone can enjoy.”

According to the company, grocery shoppers can take advantage of discounts on “essential travel essentials, picnic must-haves, barbecue staples and health and wellness products.” The discounts will be offered at both Giant Eagle and Market District stores and will include both private label and national brands.

The Pittsburgh-based company said its “Deals for Days” promotion will run throughout the year, including other occasions such as “back to school, fall football, Halloween and the November and December holidays.”
