Whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner, Latin Melting Pot is one of the few homey restaurants that opens early and closes late to serve all three meals.
This bright, clean and colourful little restaurant has both indoor and outdoor seating, where you queue up to order at the register, find a seat and wait for your food to be brought to you.

At the Latin Melting Pot in Vero Beach,
The menu features authentic Latin dishes that allow you to create your own combos. Peruse the food served from the warming station and choose between white or yellow arroz (rice) and black or red frijoles (beans). Then, choose a side like yuca, sweet plantain, fries, or vegetables. Finally, choose from the Latin dishes pollo (chicken), cerdo (pork), carne de res (beef), and pescado (fish).
The staff are warm and friendly and are happy to answer any questions you may have, and in addition to the so-called “hot food” menu, there is also a wide range of made-to-order dishes available.
Appetizers include several types of empanadas, tostones, and croquetas, as well as crispy homemade ensaladas (salads) and sopas (soups) served with rice. Don’t forget the wide variety of Latin sandwiches and, of course, tacos. For vegetarians: there are sandwiches filled with fresh vegetables.
Latin Melting Pot in Vero Beach serves up juicy pork with rice and plantains.
Since I didn’t get a chance to try the Latin breakfast, bakery items, desserts, etc., I’ll plan to return in the morning when they open at 8. I’m also very intrigued by the Latin pizza that they offer all day.
If you want the juicy pulled pork ($14.99) or tasty shredded beef ($15.99) combo, I can attest to the quality and flavor of both, and the sweet plantains alone are worth the trip.
We sipped on sugarcane and passionfruit lemonade ($3.50) and shared a creamy arroz con leche (rice pudding, $5.50) for dessert, savory with cinnamon, nutmeg and star anise.
