Patients undergoing dialysis in Burdur fell ill, 14 patients intubated
Some patients who underwent dialysis at Burdur Provincial Hospital between 08:00 and 12:00 and 12:00 and 16:00 yesterday reported symptoms such as dizziness, nausea, confusion and inability to get off the ambulance. As some patients’ conditions worsened, authorities contacted all patients undergoing dialysis during the day and asked them to come to the hospital. Some were taken to the hospital by ambulance.
The number of patients increased and dialysis centers were closed.
In the first phase, 18 patients whose health condition had deteriorated were taken to hospitals in ambulances. Authorities requested ambulances from various provinces. As per the instructions of the Ministry of Health, all patients undergoing dialysis treatment during the day were sent to hospitals.
The number of patients announced yesterday as 31 rose to 33, with 14 of those being treated in hospitals and private dialysis centers in Burdur, Bucak, Isparta, Afyonkarahisar and Antalya being found to have been intubated.
It was stated that judicial and administrative investigations were continuing into what happened at the hospital’s dialysis center, which was closed as a precautionary measure by Governor Burdur.
