Darcey is making the most of her trip to Turkey. In this exclusive clip from Monday’s season finale of Darcey & Stacey, she and her twin sister Stacey visit a traditional Turkish baths, and Darcey becomes emotional about her rocky relationship with Georgi.
Darcey and Stacey travelled to Turkey to undergo multiple plastic surgery procedures, and the video sees the twins enjoying a Turkish bubble bath the night before their procedures.
“In Turkish culture, it’s not just about cleansing the body, it’s about cleansing the soul. This is really useful right now,” she points out.
The sisters have been given a thorough scrubbing, which Darcey says she feels is part of their “transformation.” “It’s definitely better than Georgie,” Darcy exclaimed as the workers scrubbed her.
“My past is washed away, washed away, and it can’t hurt me anymore,” she says. “I feel like I’m the new Darcy.”
“I feel like I gave too much of myself to Georgi. I want a part of myself back,” she also told the cameras. “If you undergo surgery, you may feel some physical pain from the surgery, but I feel like your inner health will heal as well.”
The season 2 finale of Darcey & Stacey airs Monday at 8pm ET/PT on TLC.
ET caught up with Darcey and Stacey ahead of the second season of their hit spinoff 90 Day Fiancé, where they candidly talked about the transformation of “spiritual” plastic surgery in Turkey.
“I feel like we’ve become better versions of ourselves, but it starts from within,” Darcy said. “Going there together as twins, we bonded more and it was like, it was a complete experience. … We felt very protected there, we felt a sense of history, we felt liberated. I felt like I was born again. And I would never go through that situation or that journey again. It was the best thing we ever did for ourselves. We healed. I came back after being treated like that.”
“It was also kind of a spiritual journey,” Stacey added. “Even the producers behind the scenes were like, ‘Oh, I get it when you were talking about manifestos and things like that, twintwit.'” They saw it firsthand. ”
As for the online criticism of plastic surgery, the twins aren’t concerned about it.
“It’s better than hiding it,” Stacey pointed out. “We’re comfortable sharing experiences. Everyone has their own experiences and their own journey, and that’s good for us.”
“We embrace ourselves and love ourselves from the inside and that translates outward,” Darcey added. “It’s different for everyone. We love ourselves enough, in a way, to take that journey, that step, that risk to better ourselves. It wasn’t just to change how we look, it was really from the inside. I think there has to be some kind of understanding that no matter what happens, no matter what, sometimes in life you have to take risks. But I think this was more worth it than anything because the way it brought us together as sisters, surgery or not, was invaluable to us. … But people are going to wonder, ‘Why would you do that? Don’t you love yourself?’ And yeah, we love ourselves enough to do that. That’s what we think.”
