The White Sox placed Eloy Jimenez on the 10-day disabled list on Wednesday after injuring his left hamstring while running base against the Toronto Blue Jays earlier this week.
He was injured in the fifth inning as he rounded third base while attempting to score from second base on Corey Jukes’ single.
Injuries have defined Jimenez’s career through his first six years in the league, and it was already the second time this season the slugger has been injured while running the bases, missing 12 games in April with a left adductor strain.
Things only got worse for Jimenez in 2021, when he tore his pectoral tendon while trying to block a home run in spring training, an avoidable accident that caused him to miss roughly half the regular season.
Obviously, that lengthy IL stint wasn’t an isolated incident. A lot happened between then and his recent injury, with the slugger only playing 53% of available games from 2021-2023.
Here’s a list of all the injuries that kept Jimenez sidelined through his first six MLB seasons.
