Hair Transplant in Türkiye
Coping with the effects of hair loss
BBC reporter Tiffany Sweeney visited Paul’s hometown of Middlesbrough in North Yorkshire, England, a week before his hair restoration treatment. Sweeney spoke with Paul, his parents and friends to find out how hair loss has affected Paul’s social life and why he decided to undergo hair transplant surgery in Turkey.
Paul opted for a hair transplant because his receding hairline was seriously affecting his self-confidence. He said he had been saving for six months to pay for his £2,000 surgery at his hair clinic, but if he had the surgery at a clinic in the UK, the cost would be his £4. It would have doubled.
Meeting with Dr. Mehmet Erdoğan and Dr. Göcay Bilgin at Smile Hair Clinic
Upon arrival in Istanbul, the BBC team accompanied Paul to the Smile Hair Clinic, where he met with Dr Mehmet Erdoğan and Dr Gokay Bilgin for a consultation and hair analysis. Surgeons examined his hair, designed a new hairline, and shaved his head in preparation for surgery.
The six-hour surgery began with an injection of local anesthesia using a needleless gun. Surgeons then removed 2,700 hair follicles from the back of Paul’s head (the area where her hair is thickest). The final stage of the surgery involved reinserting the hair graft into Paul’s hairline, wrapping him in a bandage, and sending him off.
Paul said the surgery was quick and painless. The only pain was from the local anesthetic injection.
Stages of Transformation and Paul’s Experience
A month after Paul’s hair transplant surgery, the BBC team returned to Middlesbrough to check on Paul, see how his hair was growing and find out what his family thought of his new look.
The first month after surgery is the worst time for hair transplant patients as they experience what is called shock loss.
Paul was no exception. His hair began to fall out about two weeks after surgery, and the donor area had spots from the trauma of the surgery. However, the first results were not seen until four months after treatment.
In a video sent later, Paul shared his experience, showing that his hair had grown significantly beyond his expectations and his self-confidence had increased. Smile His Hair He says choosing his clinic was the best decision, is happy with the results and is looking forward to seeing how his appearance changes over the next few months. Told.
