A woman who underwent an “unwanted” butt lift surgery in Brazil is warning people not to travel abroad for cosmetic surgery after her terrifying ordeal. Michelle Heath, 41, detailed her botched surgery in Turkey on Tuesday’s This Morning with Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle.
After losing 10 stones in her early 20s, Michelle was left with excess skin that she wanted to remove, so she started researching surgeons overseas. The 24-year-old was diagnosed with conical breast syndrome and had previously had her breast lift and tummy tuck done on the NHS.
Michel researched possible doctors and surgeons in Turkey who could perform the surgery, and eventually made an appointment with a certified doctor, but the pain was excruciating immediately after the knife.

“I hadn’t heard any horror stories but if I had I probably would have opened my eyes a bit more,” she told This Morning. “The red flags came when I came out of theatre and someone came into my room demanding I pay more for my antibiotics, even though I’d already paid for them.”
Despite paying for two nights of hospital accommodation, Michelle waited agonizingly in the reception area for hours, unable to understand why she couldn’t sit. “I didn’t know they were BBLing me at this point,” she said, and Josie exclaimed, “You didn’t know?!”

Explaining to host Craig what the procedure entails, she continued: “BBL is [surgeon] It involves harvesting fat from one part of the body and injecting it into the buttocks, which is the most dangerous cosmetic procedure because the fat can go directly into the veins and cause embolism in the heart. ”
“I didn’t ask. [the BBL], I didn’t know it happened to me until the third day. I didn’t understand why I couldn’t sit down,” she explained. She had traveled to Turkey to have surgery to remove the skin on her legs and lift her back, but she found out three days later that she had undergone a similar surgery. Unwanted butt surgery.
Michelle waited for five hours at the hospital reception waiting to be transferred, but couldn’t understand why she couldn’t sit down. When she tried to speak to a medical professional, she was told by her nurse that she would have to pay more for her additional treatment despite the severe pain.
When she returned to her home in Belfast, a family friend noticed a smell of “rotten flesh” coming from Michelle and advised her to go to A&E immediately. “I’m glad I woke up with my kidneys feeling better,” she joked.
It soon became clear how bad the surgery had been, as Michelle was unable to sit or go to the toilet and doctors noticed blood clots remaining in her leg after liposuction. .
Michelle was treated for an infection, but suffered another setback when the wound in her back tore open. After further surgery and skin grafts on her, Michelle was given the all clear by doctors in Ireland.
