We challenged our reporters to try a viral solution for bald men. Not only was he shocked by the results, but he was also shocked by the feedback that followed.
But that stereotype is now outdated, and wigs, or “hair systems” as they are now known, are suddenly all the rage, especially among men in their 20s, 30s and 40s with hair follicle disorders.
“The popularity of hair systems has increased significantly over the last few years,” Andrew Wilson told news.com.au.
Mr Wilson runs a company in Australia called Transitions Hair, which specializes in hair systems, and he says interest has exploded thanks to social media.
“More people are willing to post[about getting a hair system],” Wilson said.
“Before, people were shy and didn’t want anyone to notice them. Now, thanks to social media, people feel free to share their experiences.”

A video of a man installing a hair system has been viewed tens of millions of times on TikTok, with many shocked by the difference it makes to his appearance.
While interviewing Mr. Wilson for this article, he noticed that I had a rather large bald spot on the back of my head and asked me to use the system to demonstrate how simple and effective it really is. He suggested that I wear it.
I accepted, and the results were amazing (you can see my transformation in the video player at the top of this article and in the close-up cut below).
my experience
When I first saw the hair system on my head, I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes.
I looked at myself in the mirror, and I didn’t look like me.
In the span of two hours, my hair went from current Larry Emdur to… well… vintage Larry Emdur.
Already rally.
Well then, Larry.
I’ll admit I was pretty self-conscious for the first few days.
I felt that people could tell that I was wearing a hair system, so I felt the need to tell them all about it before they talked to me about it.
But it turns out it was all in my head (pardon the pun).
The majority of my friends and family said the same two things. “If I didn’t know you, there was no way I would know that wasn’t your real hair,” and “It makes you look much younger.” By the way, I’m 39 years old.
It took me a few days to get used to my new hair, but after a while I stopped looking twice every time I passed the mirror, and my friends quickly got used to it and said, I can barely remember what I looked like without hair. ”
If you are concerned about your hairline, we recommend that you try our hair system. This is a non-permanent solution that can be used for long periods of time or only for special occasions. If it’s going to help you look years younger, why not?

For all your hair system questions:
What is a hair system?
“A hair system is essentially a non-surgical method for replacing or restoring hair,” explained Transitions Hair’s Wilson.
“Basically what we’re doing is creating a transparent artificial skin that’s about a tenth of a millimeter thick and placing it over the scalp. And what we’re doing is ( It involves grafting real human hair onto the artificial skin, thereby replicating the appearance of the hair and scalp.”
The hair system is then attached to the client’s scalp.
How is the hair system attached to the scalp?
“We use a range of medical grade adhesives,” Mr Wilson told news.com.au. “They hold up really well and are very safe.
“Some people prefer to use medical tape to attach the hair system,” he said.
Squirt that adhesive out.
Put on the new lid.
Who is the best candidate for a hair system?
“Generally speaking, if you’ve exhausted other cosmetic options to make your hair look thicker, you’re probably a good person to try a hair system,” Wilson says.
“Or if you find your hair is thinning rapidly, a hair system is definitely a good way to prevent it from looking worse over time, because it can be transformed in an instant. .”
What is the process of installing a hair system?
“First, we’ll determine what’s going on with your hair and have a chat to find out what you want,” Wilson explained.
“From there, we take some measurements to make sure the contours and color of your scalp match your hair, making sure it’s a perfect match for the hair system we’ve chosen.
“We will then refer you back to your appointment to have your hair system installed, which usually takes about two to three hours.
“The hair system starts out with long hair, which is then cut short.
“And finally, I’ll tell you how to take care of your hair from now on.”
After installing the system, I went from bald to beautiful within 2 hours.
Is there anything you should not do when you have a hair system, such as swimming or strenuous exercise?
“There are no limits to what you can do with a hair system,” Mr Wilson told news.com.au. “You can sleep in it, you can take a shower in it.
“At Transitions Hair, we have clients who do things like big wave surfing and skydiving while wearing their hair systems.”
How much does a hair system cost?
“Initial costs can vary,” Wilson says. “If you want something as high quality as we do at Transitions Hair, you’ll need to invest about $1,400 to $1,500.”
How should I maintain my hair system after installing it?
“Most of our customers want us to professionally manage their hair,” Mr Wilson told news.com.au. “So for most people he comes back about every three weeks.”
During each appointment, the Transitions hair team will remove your hair system, clean your scalp, give you a haircut, and then reapply your hair system.
How long does each hair system last?
“It really depends on the type of system and the type of person,” Wilson said. “But each hair system can last anywhere from two months to six months.”
