Besiktas continue their search for a coach and have started talks with Jose Mourinho.
Besiktas second president Hussein Yucel said he met the Portuguese coach in person a month ago. After the meeting, Mourinho gave Besiktas the go-ahead.

“About a month ago, I met Jose Mourinho in Istanbul. I told him that I would like to meet him at Besiktas. I told him that he fits the chemistry of Besiktas. Jose Mourinho “We said we would evaluate after the offer”, and after a while Mourinho came back and agreed to meet again in Italy, saying that as Besiktas, we are ready to live up to Mourinho’s expectations. “The matter of Mourinho will be considered by the board and a final meeting will be held in Italy next week.”

Meanwhile, Besiktas vice president Onur Gotimes also spoke about Jose Mourinho.
In a statement on the matter, coach Onur Gotimes said: “We have also met with Jose Mourinho and the coaches who have been named on social media. We are constantly meeting. “We have a medium-term, long-term strategy. We are meeting with all the teams.” He’s the perfect coach. All names associated with Besiktas are on the table. ” He said.
